Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)
At Adventure Carrick we are proud to be able to say that we were one of the first outdoor activity centres to teach Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) in Scotland and we’ve been going strong for more than 10 years. Book an intro to SUP session or come for some development coaching to improve your paddling or find out more about paddle board surfing, down winding, day touring and multi day expeditions!

Adventure Carrick is passionate about developing the sport of Stand up Paddle boarding (SUP). We offer Paddle boarding lessons, coaching sessions and group trips.
We have amazing venues ideal for beginner sessions, introduction to SUP surfing and down winding.
For those with experience we have a great coastline to explore with hidden coves and caves and an abundance of wildlife. The Clyde coastline and the views over the Ailsa Craig and Arran provide a spectacular backdrop in which to enjoy this great activity.
Our experienced and friendly coaches are ASI (Academy of Surf Instructor), BSUPA (British Stand Up Paddleboard Association) and SCA (Scottish Canoe Association) accredited instructors.
We’ll kit you out with everything you need so you only need to bring swim wear, a towel, some shoes to wear in the water and your enthusiasm.
Activities normally meet at 10am at the Adventure Carrick base in Girvan. You will receiving an activity briefing and all participants will be required to complete a medical declaration/consent form. You will get changed and then head off to the venue in your own transport. The activity will normally finish at around 2pm at the venue and you will not need to return to the base.
You may not need to travel to our base depending on your location as we can bring all the equipment needed with us and meet you at the venue.
The cost is £55 per person and this is based on a minimum of 4 people booking. Please contact us for a bespoke price for a smaller group.

The half day INTRO session is designed as a fun introduction to SUP and aims to cover the basics of:
Managing and setting up equipment (PPE, Setting up boards, how to carry boards safely etc)
Board skills, stance and balance (skill progression tasks with and without the paddle)
Paddling skills (Forwards, backwards, rotational steering skills)
Environmental awareness (choosing where to paddle, weather awareness, access,egress etc)
SUP development games
